Cute Eco Friendly Bags Featured

29 Jun

As the green movement continues to pick up speed in 2012, one company is promoting an eco-friendly lifestyle through a product designed to contribute to a healthy planet, one shopping trip at a time.

Momentum1 Products, Inc. is dedicated to creating products that care and, as their name implies, contributing momentum toward a healthier planet for everyone. Julie Zizka, the founder of Momentum 1 Products, developed their flagship product, The Tote Buddy, while trying to solve a fairly new and universal problem.

For a few years now reusable shopping bags have been all the rage in an effort to cut back on paper and plastic bag use. Despite having good intentions, many users often find themselves in the checkout line while their bags lay forgotten in the car or kitchen. Finding herself in a similar situation one too many times, Zizka decided to find a way to make it easier to use, store, and carry her bags.

Zizka sewed her first Tote Buddy and tested it out for a few weeks.  It worked.  She stopped forgetting her bags and the cashiers and baggers appreciated its functionality.

The Tote Buddy holds about ten reusable shopping bags and closes tightly with a  Velcro strap.  Due to The Tote Buddy’s slim-profile design, it can be stored near the driver’s seat, making it easy to remember to bring into the store for every shopping trip.

The Tote Buddy comes in a number of vibrant and eye-catching designs, including the always classic solid black or pink, fun cheetah or brandy wine zebra prints, tropical floral, and black and white chic fleur de lis.  Some of the designs include an interior pocket to hold coupons, grocery store membership cards, a cell phone, etc.  Zizka has recently moved her manufacturing from China to the U.S. and continues to explore additional environmentally conscious business practices.

Based in Del Mar, CA, Zizka hopes to help change the way Americans shop, by making it easier to use reusable bags.  “It’s something that everyone can do to help reduce our landfills and keep our oceans healthy,” says Zizka. With cities all over the US adopting bag bans and plastic bag fees, it appears the reusable bag is here to stay.  So the next time you find yourself headed to the store, don't forget to choose the Tote Buddy you love, select how many bags you need, shop, check out, and relax!
